How to Make the Best Bread Rolls at Home

Homemade bread rolls are a delicious and easy way to make your meals more special. They are perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and they can be customized to your liking. This blog post will show you how to make the best bread rolls at home, step by step.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup warm water (105°F to 115°F)
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, plus more for greasing the bowl
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let stand for 5 minutes, or until the yeast is foamy.
  2. Stir in the oil, salt, and 2 cups of the flour. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
  4. Grease a large bowl with oil. Place the dough in the bowl and turn to coat all sides with oil.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
  7. Roll each piece of dough into a ball and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Cover the baking sheet with plastic wrap and let the rolls rise in a warm place for 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  9. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  10. Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Let the rolls cool on a wire rack before serving.

Tips:

  • For a more flavorful bread, use bread flour instead of all-purpose flour.
  • If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour. If the dough is too dry, add a little more water.
  • Don't overwork the dough, or it will become tough.
  • Let the rolls rise in a warm place, but not too hot. Too hot of a place will kill the yeast.
  • Bake the rolls until they are golden brown. If they are not golden brown, they will be doughy on the inside.
